Below you will find summaries of the continuing education requirements for mental health and addiction counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, nurses and psychologists in your state and links to the appropriate regulations.

 

Professions

 

Addiction Professionals

Precertification/Licensure

Addiction Counselor (5) The Applicant must  successfully complete a minimum of two hundred
seventy (270) clock hours of approved education. Approved education must be directly related to alcoholism and/or drug abuse counseling
subjects, theory, practice, or research.

 

Continuing Education

Addiction Counselor 40 Hours biennally.  At least 50% must be live, interactive.  CEUs from NAADAC Approved providers like AllCEUs are acceptable.

 

Marriage and Family Therapists

Accepted AllCEUs Approvals: 

(e) The Board recognizes the following activities/experiences, which demonstrate professional benefit to the licensee, as acceptable CE: 1. Attending workshops provided by a qualified professional from state and/or nationally recognized training programs.

AllCEUs is an approved provider for the Florida Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling and Social Work.

 Professional and Associate Counselors

Accepted AllCEUs Approvals: 

(e) The Board recognizes the following activities/experiences, which demonstrate professional benefit to the licensee, as acceptable CE: 1. Attending workshops provided by a qualified professional from state and/or nationally recognized training programs.

AllCEUs is an approved provider for the Florida Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling and Social Work.

 

Social Workers

Accepted Approvals:  It is the licensee's responsibility, using his/her professional judgment, to determine the workshops that are applicable and appropriate to his/her professional development as a social worker.

“C. Examples of Acceptable Social Work Continuing Education (SWCE):1. Seminars, workshops, or courses oriented to the enhancement of socialwork practice, values, skills and knowledge. a. Cross-disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education and the behavioral sciences are acceptable if they are clearly related to the enhancement of
social work practice.”

Psychologists

Accepted AllCEUs Approvals: 9.1. A. (1). (b).    In-person or online training provided by a
qualified professional from state and/or nationally recognized professional organization.  AllCEUs is approved by the State of Florida Board of Social Work and NAADAC among others.

Required Hours: 20 Annually by June 30

Limits to Online: None noted
